In the classroom

Our pre purchase building inspectors academy is an intensive week long, hands-on training course that will equip you with the skills you need to work as a building consultant. Our course has the following modules.

Overview of AS4349 standards

Defect definition
Inspection agreement
Site inspection process
Effective report writing
Insurance education
Communication and client relations
App training

On site training

This is probably the most important part of our training. You’ll conduct 10 real inspections alongside our expert inspectors. This process will teach you everything you need to know about pre purchase inspections in the real world.

Furthermore, these 10 inspections will count as the requirement to gain insurance.

Course Schedule

Classrooom

Days 1 to 5 are held in a classroom in Melbourne.

Live inspections

As part of the course, our students will do 10 inspections with our expert inspectors. These inspections will be scheduled in the days following the classroom sessions. We will make every effort to conduct these inspections in a timely manner, but the schedule may vary based on property availability.

Insurance

Most insurance companies require that you have completed a certain number of inspections (generally ten) before they will offer you a policy. You can use the inspections carried out in the course as your quota to fulfil this requirement.

Pricing

The price of our pre purchase course is $15,000 + GST..

Your spot will be locked in upon receipt of a 50% deposit and the balance must be paid before the course begins.

Prerequisites

To qualify for our course, you must provide proof of -

Demonstrate holding of current Builder’s Licence or hold qualifications to obtain a Builder’s Licence or
Demonstrate completion of Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) with 5 years hands on experience or
Are a qualified Architect, Surveyor or Structural Engineer.

Upon completion

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive -

Written confirmation to insurance agencies that you have completed the course and your quota of ten inspections.
A certificate of completion.
Access to our members area for ongoing support.
